Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of MeowChing at meowching.com (the "Service"). "MeowChing", "we" and "us" refer to the operator of the Service. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

By signing in or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for users aged 18 or over, or the age of majority where you live, if higher. We do not verify age. If you are under that age, do not use the Service.

3. The Service and entertainment disclaimer

MeowChing is an I Ching coin-casting reflection app hosted by a cat character. Interpretations are generated by AI for entertainment and self-reflection only. They are not predictions and are not medical, legal, financial, psychological or any other professional advice. Do not rely on them for decisions about your health, money, legal position, safety or relationships. If you are in crisis or need professional help, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.

4. Accounts

• You can cast a reading without signing in. AI readings, credits and purchases require a signed-in Google account. Google is the only sign-in method.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google account secure.
• You may not sell, transfer or share your account.
• We may limit or suspend accounts that break these Terms.

5. Free uses and referrals

• Each signed-in account receives 3 free basic readings per UTC day.
• If you register through a valid invitation, you receive 5 credits and the inviter receives 5 credits (an inviter can earn signup credits for up to 20 invitees). These credits do not expire and are used like other credits.
• Free uses are for one person per account. Creating multiple accounts to collect free uses or referral rewards is not allowed, and we may revoke uses or credits, or block accounts we believe are abusing them.

6. Credits and payments

• Deep readings and follow-ups use credits. A deep reading costs 5 credits and a follow-up costs 3 credits.
• Once your free daily readings are used up, a basic reading costs 1 credit. The app shows this cost and asks you to confirm before it is charged.
• Credits are sold as one-time packs:

• Credits do not expire, cannot be transferred, and have no cash value. They are not a deposit, stored value or currency.
• Invitees get $1 / $2 / $4 off their first Starter / Plus / Pro purchase; the inviter receives 20 credits after that purchase succeeds. Prices and rewards shown at checkout apply.
• Payments are processed by Waffo. Waffo.com Limited acts as Merchant of Record and reseller: it handles payment, tax, receipts, and order-related inquiries and refunds. Your purchase is also subject to Waffo's terms. We do not receive or store your full card details.
• If a reading fails and cannot be delivered, the credits held for it are released back to you. Releasing a hold never creates extra credits.

7. Refunds and chargebacks

• Our Refund Policy forms part of these Terms. In short: you can get a full refund within 7 days of a purchase if you have not spent any credits since that purchase; credits already used are not refundable and packs are not refunded pro rata; duplicate or erroneous charges are refunded in full.
• If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content, which applies in place of the 7-day window. If you agreed at checkout that delivery begins immediately and acknowledged that you would lose this right, it ends once any credits are spent from your wallet after that purchase.
• Request a refund through Waffo, as Merchant of Record, by replying to or using the contact details in your Waffo receipt email, or email us at [email protected] with your order reference.
• If a purchase is fully refunded or charged back, the credits from that purchase are removed from your balance, together with any referral reward that purchase triggered for the inviter. If you have already spent those credits, your balance can become negative, and you cannot use paid features until it is covered by a new purchase.
• If a purchase is partially refunded, your credit wallet is placed under manual review and paid use may be paused until we resolve it.
• Opening a chargeback instead of contacting us or Waffo first may lead to account restrictions.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• submit content that is illegal, or that infringes others' rights, or that sexualizes minors, or that threatens or harasses others;
• try to manipulate, jailbreak or extract instructions from the AI, or use the Service to generate content unrelated to its purpose;
• abuse free tiers, including by creating multiple accounts or automating requests;
• probe, attack, overload or scrape the Service, or bypass its limits or security;
• resell or commercially exploit the Service or its output as a service to others without our permission.

9. AI output limitations

Output is produced by AI models (Google Gemini) and may be inaccurate, inconsistent, incomplete or unsuitable. The same question can produce different wording. We do not guarantee accuracy, and interpretations are not endorsed traditional scholarship. You are responsible for how you use them. Replies are written in the language of your question, and quality may vary between languages.

10. Sharing

• Default share cards show only the coin pattern (the hexagram lines).
• A personalized share, which includes saved reading text, is created only after you explicitly confirm it.
• Shared pages are marked noindex to discourage search engines. Anyone with the link can view it, and you are responsible for what you choose to share.
• You can revoke a share at any time, after which its link stops working. Revocation cannot remove copies others already made.

11. Intellectual property and licenses

• The classical I Ching text is in the public domain.
• The app, its design, cat character, code, and original content are ours or our licensors'. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service.
• You keep your rights in the questions you submit. You grant us a limited license to process them, including sending them to our AI providers, to provide the Service to you.
• You may use your own readings for personal purposes.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and can request account deletion by email (see Contact). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, abuse, legal requirements or security reasons. Credits are handled as described in the refund section; termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund except where the law requires.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss arising from reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and you may have consumer rights that cannot be waived.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with an updated effective date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice in the Service. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.
